Yikes! I know the Phoenix area is warmer than Tucson but those temperatures are scary – especially for this time of year.
Poor Wickenburg and Cave Creek!

Beautiful fall colors, a rare treat here in the Sonoran Desert. Which means we are stuck deep in the throes of winter (with temps dipping well below 70 during the day – brrrr!) for another two whole months. Sigh. We’ll suffer through somehow…
I don’t usually spend much time on this kind of thing but this video is quite well done; the dog is so expressive, the voices are good, and of course, it promotes pet adoption. Definitely worth a look…
This walked through my yard this morning. Only the second mule deer I’ve seen on the property in the 5+ years that I’ve lived here. I know it is a fuzzy shot but it was the best view of his head and rack. What a handsome animal!
I hope the rest of the year holds many more wonderful surprises for all of us!
Bailey and Wylie ponder this fast-moving object:
Bailey finds it a bit disconcerting:
Wylie has it figured out:Thanks to Alison and Charles for this special treat!
Ice on the birds’ water:
About half-inch thick:
My hand-made tree:
Bailey says, “Merry whatever, as if I care.”
Wylie says, “Look, I wrapped myself up for you. Best. Gift. Ever. Right?”
Hope your holidays are filled with much joy!
