Moccasin Lake Nature Park, Clearwater, Florida July 2020

This is the first time I’ve encountered a Slaty Skimmer (Libellula incesta). It is a medium-sized dragonfly, measuring about two inches long, but with its deep blue-gray coloration it was quite a striking little devil. The abdomen would be brown in females or subadults.
