Talking Buffelgrass on TV

To be clear, buffelgrass doesn’t talk. I was interviewed* by Domenica Fuller of KVOA news yesterday during one of my buffelgrass removal projects. I appreciated the opportunity since my job is to raise awareness about the hazards of buffelgrass. And the best part? I didn’t make a fool of myself!

  1. Wow, finally a news story about what you’ve been doing for so many years.
Great way to get the word out and you did a wonderful job in the interview.
I wish it had been longer, but there are other ways to present this story–removing fire danger is just one. Great job Erin!

  2. Very informative. Buffelgrass is a plant terrorist! Now that we know what it “does for a living” let’s declare a war on it!

  3. Thanks for the kind words, Paula. I agree, I wish the interview had been longer, so much more to say about this nasty grass!

  4. Yep, Lynne, it does feel like a battle out there. Especially since there is so much at stake. Southern Arizona’s warmer winters have allowed buffelgrass to expand into higher elevations, and Cochise County has already seen an increase in buffelgrass infestations. Shouldn’t yet be a problem where you are but it is good idea to keep an eye out for this “villian.”
