Here’s my recent interview on local radio promoting Beat Back Buffelgrass Day. Many thanks to Dan’s skilled editing for keeping me comprehensible. And yes, I am painfully aware that I used up my lifetime supply of the word “great.” Isn’t that just great?!

I think you’re a natural at this, very, very informative interview, you’re knowledge and presentation of the issue goes a long way toward helping people to understand the issue, identify it as a serious problem now, and with the potential to “grow” more and more serious consequences in the future. The Sonoran desert depends on you and people like you, who put their sweat, toil and time into its’ safety and continuation. Maybe bufflegrass is like dirty dishes. You get one sink full washed, dried and put away but when you turn around there are more dirty dishes on the counter. So what do you do but keep at it…what’s the alternative? …a kitchen full of dirty dishes or a desert landscape hijacked by bufflegrass seem to be assured.
The desert needs an articulate spokesperson. I think the desert found it’s gal.
Good job!

Thank you for your kind words. I get overwhelmed when I think about the extent of the buffelgrass problem. But then I see the difference a few volunteers can make and it gives me hope – if everyone contributed just a little bit of time and effort we could get buffelgrass under control!
